I'm working on some hair for my character and noticed that Blender immediately crashes if I try to render hair with the density parameter controlled by a texture and with children set to interpolated (simple doesn't work). If I set the texture to influence any other parameter (length, clumping, velocity, etc.) the render actually starts.
If I map the density and turn off children, the scene renders but with weird strands jutting out from strange places.
Here is a viewport grab.
And here is the test file itself:
hairDensityTexture.zip
I'm using the build from Sept. 1. Thanks in advance.
