  • Shadow Granularity - Subdivs in Light Panel having no effect

According to the Author of Photography & Rendering with V-Ray (page 52 in case you have it), I should be able to change the Subdivs value in the Light panel from 8 to 30 and get rid of the grain in the shadow until it is indiscernible at the cost of increased render time. However, when I change the value from 8 to 30, the shadow grain is identical as is the render time. There is no difference in either render, before or after. I conclude from this that this Subdivs value isn't working as it should be. Can someone confirm this or tell me what I am missing?

    Thanks,
    Bryson

Just curious....Is there any approach to solve IR blotches with the new 3.3 method (Use Local Subdivs=OFF)? Any official recomendation on this?
Checking on "Use Local Subdivs", v-ray will work like it used to be until 3.3.

IR blotches were caused by incorrect interpolation menu items and it's fixed.
