  • "Error while loading ntree. Wrong data found in file!"

I am seeing this error in some files. It's not in every file, seems it's only a few recent ones. I grabbed an object out of a larger file that gives this error. It doesn't seem to effect the rendering, but thought I should make a note of it. The error comes up when I first open the file.

Ah, thanks. Looks like that might be all that is. The warning goes away when I use the "convert to nodes" tool.

I haven't been using the convert to nodes tool as much lately because the conversion of textures is still causing an error and stopping the conversion.

This means there is an invalid reference to a nodetree, and that nodetree was not found in the saved file. Previously loading such scenes was causing a crash which is now avoided.

Everything saved should be loaded correctly from now on, but if you find that there are missing node trees please report.

Thanks, now that I know the source of the error warning, I know what to look for. I've not encountered any crashes from missing nodes (as far as I know.) Actually - can't think off hand the last time Vray for Blender has crashed. It's quite a stable program, kudos to all the developers
