    I saw something earlier about triangulated versus quad meshes that have a problem with displacement. What does your mesh look like? Is it triangulated or quads?

        Seems the solution there was adding subdivisions. Are you using a subdivision modifier?

        You could also do a quick check with the mesh triangulated.

        Oh yeah, and check that you're on the latest build?

            Blender - there's a modifier for everything! I didn't even think of the triangulate modifier, good thinking.
