  • VB crashing when trying to show material preview

    Hi everyone,

Vray for Blender quits as soon as I select a mesh with a material that has a bitmap, I suppose when it tries to build the material preview. If I'm working on any other tab (render/lights/world/etc) the program doesn't crash. If I select a mesh with a simple material, like just diffuse color, the material preview loads OK and blender doesn't crash, it only happens with bitmaps.

Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a way to fix it or a new build?

    regards,

    Alvaro

afecelis Can you please upload a simple scene that reproduces the problem?

Yes, of course. Please download this file ( textures by cgbookcase.com)

simply select the wall and go to the material tab, or as soon as you open the file hit F12 to render. Blender-Vray will crash as soon as you try any of them.

      I'm using standalone V36002

Ps. I forgot to mention, this only occurs when I load previously-created scenes that rendered fine in 3.5. If I create everything from scratch material preview/render works as expected.

Thank you for the scene. This should be fixed from next nightly build.

afecelis the fix is in the Blender code so you will need access to Blender For V-Ray nightly builds.

Thank you poseidon. I was a tad confused, I thought the error was on the standalone side.

It's working fine now on 20170721 build.

Please set this topic as [SOLVED]
