kontrolermpl this should start working from tomorrow's nightly. For today you can attach explicit channel mapping to TexSoftbox and it will work as it should.

Thank you so much It works quite nice now, but I want to get something like this (SoftBoxRadialTEX.png). Before implement new softbox texture I just copied softbox texture and connected intensity to alpha socket and it work fine. EFFECT: I get nice reflection gradient. When now I do this, I get result as you can see on SoftBoxTexTESTv02.png number 1 and 2. It will be nice to get simply possible select color with alpha. I tried do this, but I get result like in image 3. It doesn't work... Can you fix it?

kontrolermpl if you use image without alpha it will work as you expect (you can re-save the image in .jpg and try)

But I want use image or texture with alpha, because I would like to achieve nice reflection on shiny objects from white to transparency like this as yo can see on example image. Please follow light setup for area light in old blender build.

That reflection example looks more like a characteristic of the metal material glossiness amount than lighting fakery. If you want soft falloff though - you can map the lighting from yellow to black instead of using alpha. There are also options for softbox with radial gradients that would get you the same effect.

Thank you for your answer, but when I'll use this set-up (yellow to black), I'll get reflection from yellow to black instead of yellow to "nothing". I just would like, to get back this setting as in old build, because this worked fine for me. Is it possible?
