  • Questions about VRay/Blender materials

Hi, I'd like to learning how I use Vray in Blender, so I create a topic for my questions about materials.
I hope it'll help not only me!
    Sorry my bad English

So this is my first question:

How I creat glow for a monitor? I can use node editor or there are any special way to create glow like a monitor light?

Well, u can use Emit but this parameter is new and is a little bad. If the Emit value is > 0.0, the monitor get a strong color, rrrrrrreal strong... You'll need to increase the GI quality a lot for not make clouds on your render. I recommend you to use area lights with some blue color or any color to simulate the monitor's light. It's my tip, maybe had another better one.
    Blender + Vray!

      Thanks, I'll try it...
Another question: is there any page who collect materials settings, // like chrome, water, plastic etc...
      or some documentation about materials?

You can't create a monitor glow straight out of Vray because the exporter doesn't support textured emitters. Just plain colours.
For the moment it's better to avoid these altogether or do them from scratch in post.
