  • V-Ray 3.1 Slow Geometry Export

    Hi,

I have just upgraded to version 3.1 of V-Ray and I have noticed that since I've upgraded the export times of my scene have gone up dramatically. Before I barely noticed them, but know it takes around 20 seconds before the render starts.

I'm using the September 1st nightly build (I think it's the latest) I've just got the latest exporter addon from GIT. (It was just as slow before I updated the addon, but I thought I'd try that first)

    Link to scene, https://www.dropbox.com/s/ka0bxz8dkz..._01.blend?dl=0

    Thanks
    Dan

I'm sorry, I don't think it is the export speed, but in fact the reading of the files that seems to take the time.

    Thanks

Then the bottom line repeats in the console many times (I've deleted them here as they are the same with the % going up) which takes around 19 seconds for this scenes. Smaller scenes are quicker. You can see that the actual export is very fast! It's the actual reading of the geometry that takes the time.

Try to set data export format to zip and untick re-export meshes.
