How to show/visualize output images from image nodes during creation of materials?

I am using many image files as inputs for my VRayMtl. I would like to add a Color correction node between the output of the Image File node and the corresponding input of the VRayMtl node and visualize the color corrected image before rendering...

How can I visualize in Blender the output image/texture from a node like the Image File or Color correction nodes?

You can enable "Selected node preview" in the Render tab and then material preview will try to show preview for currently selected node. Currently not all nodes are supported for selected preview, but Image File should work correctly.
