Why is V-Ray IPR not in Blender?

My understanding is that the Blender open-source license limits how deep Chaos Group is able to hook into in the app, thus limiting the ability for real-time feedback. I keep hoping one day the Blender developers will find a way to allow it, but for now, it's a matter of licensing incompatibility between open code and proprietary code.

Certainly there are open source and proprietary issues.
      It is a difficult problem.

I hope at least V-Ray VFB will have camera control.

I would be so happy to see Vray4Blender like Vray for max !
I know, it's a dream but... it would be so so great...
        (Sorry for my bad english)

Hmm, last time I checked there was an option to run IPR in Vray/Blender. The IPR implementation in 3ds max is something very specific to 3ds max, btw. Is that not what you guys are looking for?

What do you mean by camera control in the VFB, I'm not sure I quite understand that.

I think he means that when you move camera on Blender 3d viewport you can see render changes in VFB window

In other words, it is "View Navigation" Mode of 3ds Max version IPR.

If it is not possible to implement IPR in Blender's viewport due to open source licensing problem, I hope that VFB side can do View Navigation.

Got it, thanks. I'll pass a word to the devs. I don't know if it's possible to do that in Blender, but I'll log it as a feature request and the devs will be able to tell me if it's doable or not.

Got a note from the devs and it turns out that this is not possible in Blender.

                      That is sad news.

The reason for existence of V-Ray Blender is only vrscene export.

Thank you yolov for the answer . . . I'm quite angry now (because I had hope till today), but still working using vray blender. It'll be great to get some comment from bdancer.

P.S. Blender without RT is still great tool!

I know it's not possible currently. Does this answer speak to future real-time integration? Have the devs given up on the possibility of V-Ray RT integration with Blender?

Octane for Blender seems to do it. Is GPL violation?

ARNOLD for Blender also implements IPR

Perhaps there is a reason not to implement IPR in Blender.
I am not going to pursue deeply.
                            look forward to the future.

                              o_O

So license is NO problem. Thank you for this research

But... I'm using Blender4Vray for commercial work since this project get started so I can live without RT
But... I would be great have possibility to use it!
