Edit: I've tried and it works. I've used only Aerial+Effect Container and it's OK.
A question about your setup...why did you add a fog gizmo? Do you need to increase fog in a specific position?

You can ignore that, I had just opened a scene where I already had fog set up and added the aerial perspective node. You're right it probably would not be used together.
