  • Remove material preview.

    Hello, the material pre view few a take looooooong time for represent materials.
    Works is hard and select node image textures is realy deficult.
    Maybe is the best choise desconect this feature, developering and checking before returning to the branch.
    It is my humble opinion.

    Does it help if you close Preview window ?

      No, and if keep listen intently, my cpu fan works hard on this representation.

      Try for your self, load any image 8kpng for DIF GLO and NOR maps, and try edit your material, color correct, conect mixing, etc etc.

        If you have 1 core cpu then keeping Material Preview open will make node editor slow. I tested image of 16384x8192 pixels and setting using only one core for Blender.

          Then serious performance problems must come on the other hand.

            With large text files, the work in the node editor improves a lot with blender and mac.
            Currently working on macOSXsierra.
            Testing the same scene, now selecting the image Nodes .tif (heavy), it takes only 5 or 6 seconds to load. It is acceptable to me.
            Surely it is a problem of reading on the disk for windows versions. I hope to buy an SSD soon.
