To address some of the most common questions and concerns, I would like to give you an idea what our plans are in terms of the feature roadmap.
We're aiming to include all missing V-Ray 3.7 features in V-Ray 5 by the end of the year, excluding the ones that are considered deprecated. We'll start with the following features, which will be reintroduced with the next major update in a couple of months:
You’ll be able to access most of these features prior to the official releases, as they will be included in the latest stable builds as soon as they’re ready. Alongside working on the feature list above we are solving some of the issues that you report, and we're we’re frequently releasing hotfixes, so don’t forget to update to the latest version official V-Ray version or the latest stable build if you haven't already. You can access them on our nightlies server and official download section

- MultiInstances - improve multiinstance support and 3rd party plugins support like SurfaceSPREAD and Forester - done
- Blending of multiple material assignment tags (Material stacking) - done
- V-Ray Fur - done
- V-Ray Clipper - done
- Render Mask Modes (ObjectID, object groups) - done
- Improve MultiSubTex and add "Random by Element" mode - done
- Improve Slow loading of scenes because of the material previews - done
- Add support for the Vertex Map tag to be used with the Vertex Map shader - done
- Add V-Ray Normal Map shader - done
- Add V-Ray Color to Bump shader - won't be done (this will be an automatic conversion by V-Ray done under the hood or via the Normal Map shader)
- Chaos Cosmos integration - done
- Hair and Fur Sampler (known as TexHairInfo in V-Ray 3)
- Native support for Apple M1 Arm processors - done
- V-Ray Aerial Perspective - done
- Support for the new Asset Browser in Cinema 4D - done
- Camera overrides - wip (on hold)
- Stereoscopic camera
- Override Material - done
- V-Ray Renderable Spline - done
- Support for the Cinema 4D Projector Shader - done
- V-Ray Edges Texture - done
- Show ObjectID number in the Object Properties tag - done
- Create Node Materials from the V-Ray menu in the material manager - done
