With V-Ray 5 Update 1 we've added support for the Cinema 4D Material Node editor and we've added the most used Materials and shaders.
Here are some important notes that you need to be aware of:
- All the V-Ray Node materials and shaders are available for Cinema 4D R21.1 and newer since this is the version where Maxon fully opens the possibility for other plugins to take full advantage of their material node editor. This means that there are no V-Ray Node materials in Cinema 4D R20 and Cinema 4D version lower than R21.1
- The Cinema 4D Node materials are completely different implementation compared to Classic Materials such the Standard Cinema 4D Material therefore incompatible with each other. The same applies for the V-Ray Node Materials and V-Ray Classic materials meaning that they're also incompatible with each other and they should be treated as different materials. We're researching for a way to convert from Classic to Node materials.
- Some important nodes like the gradient ramp are missing since we had some technical difficulties and we're working with Maxon to resolve them.
