    Vray blend materials are way inferior compared to the C4D workflow

      Hello,
      we've added support for blending different materials with the texture tags, and it is available for download with our latest stable builds that can be downloaded from our nightlies server.

      I want to share some notes as well
      • You need to disable the texture tiling inside the Material tag whenever you want to add one material to another by using an alpha mask in the opacity slot of the V-Ray Material. This is done for optimization purposes and since opacity always slows down the rendering we've decided to keep the material stacking (blending) off until the Texture tiling is disabled. There is no need to export the whole stack of materials when there is no alpha in at least one of them.
      • In Cinema 4D S22 and newer versions there might be some differences when comparing the Viewport editor preview of the stacked materials with the final rendering in V-Ray and this is due to a bug that we've reported to Maxon.
