Texture and Gamma?

Hey Guys, the last update was awesome, thanks so much! Layers work, Hair and so much more!

Any idea why this RGB image isn't showing up properly? It almost seems like a gamma thing is being added? Here's the original image as well.

Hi Brian3D,

The image works as intended when i try it. Do other textures work, or is it that specific png image? If it is only happening with that png, then i am not sure what would cause it. If other textures are doing the same thing then double check the Sheen channel on the material is set to black. A rough white sheen can have a similar affect on the material. See attached screenshots.

Your image has a display color profile, you can open it in PS and convert it to sRGB, then it will work.

It's been random for the most part. It's not just this image.

I think Sirio is right, it must be the color profile. But maybe is there a way to have Vray override the color profiles?

Brian3D V-Ray will always use the embedded color profile present inside the image and if it doesn't find any it will use the default one set inside Cinema 4D. If you want to override it just change the color profile from "Embeded" to sRGB or linear depending on your needs.
