  • Vray Falloff

    Hi,
for me is the Vray Falloff too simple....With the c4d falloff I can influence the gradient, because it works like a gradient. But this is destroyd in Vray5. In the vray5 i have only black and white without gradient. So is the falloff for less ore more for nothing for slightly effects llike a slightly sloping river bank with two materials depending on the slope. the river bank must be very steep to see one effect. Is there a workaround ore a plan to integrate a gradient for the falloff? Unfortunately dictance blend i no possibillity, because the landscape is to big and so is the faloff absolutely necessary
    Thanks! andreas

Using the c4d falloff doesn‘t work for you? It is supported without baking.. according to the supported features list

No, doesn´t work! The material is with to colors in vray layered with c4d Falloff for the mask. This is not, what i need.... The example with 3.7 is baked a c4d material inside c4d and than a normal vray material in 5.0. ou can see, it is not the same like the vray 5.0 falloff.

          Hi Andreas,

I'm not sure I quite understand the issue, so I tried to replicate a similar setup.
I used a distance tex and just cut out a simple geo of the terrain to use in the Objects field.
Made two materials using that DistanceTex and used them in a Blend mat.
The tiny spec on right of the terrain is a default cube, just for scale

Thank you YunalZobu, i wwill try this in the next days. But is not 100% the same, because the falloff determines the texture depending on the slope. It would be nice if you could fine tune this effect depending on the number of degrees. Another use would be snow, which is thicker the flatter the terrain. nearbe. In the vicinity of 70 to 80 ° the base material would then be 100% visible, at 10 or 20 ° a snow texture would be 100% visible. Another choise it can be a node material? But I have 0,00 % Experiance with node meterial, this is complety new land vor me and the project must be finished in teh next few days.
