  • How to create VRayUVWGenChannel

    Hello!
Some of the Cosmos assets come with materials that have a "VRayUVWGenChannel" in the texture slot. How do I create such a texture-channel? It's not part of the standard Vray-textures and I don't find any infos about it in the Vray5 online manual.
    Thank you!

    Hello Shahyn,

Could you share with us what is your workflow and why would you need to add this texture?

Hi Aleksandar! I was just wondering where I can find this channel, as it is new to me and I could not find it in the Vray5 texture-list. Don't know yet if or when I might need it but it would be nice to know all features of Vray5 and how to activate them.

        Hello Shahyn,

This texture is implemented so that the Chaos Cosmos assets can be compatible with Cinema4D. You could use the standard Cinema4D tools, such as the texture tag to control those parameters in your materials.

the shader feature might be very helpfulfor all objects,so one can choose a UV channel per shader(i see it has a channel number option).
it woudl be great to have this in the GUI to be usedalso for non cosmos geo

I've also discovered the VRayUVWGenChannel in the cosmos browser which is great because it allows me to select the UV channel directly inside the shader, this is something that I would love to have added to the regular feature set, thanks!

                Hello,

                Thank you for your feedback.

This shader needs further development as it is not currently ready to be exposed in the V-Ray shaders list. I will let you know if we have additional information to share.
