  • C4D + Vray + Deadline

Was wondering where one could find detailed steps to use Deadline with Vray and Cinema 4d. Am very experienced with Deadline/Vray/3dsMax but cannot get it working with C4D. Lets me submit, says its rendering but nothing happens. Looked online and through DL material but nothing helps.

    Thanks!

    Hello tbny65,

I apologize for the delayed reply.

Do you get any error messages in the worker log? Could you save the log and send it to us so we can have a look? Also, could you please specify which versions of V-Ray, Cinema4D, and Deadline you have installed? Thank you.

No problem Aleksandar, thanks for your reply. I know Vray 3dsmax (and Deadline) very well but I am new (fairly) to Cinema 4d. I am not sure I know the process to use Deadline w C4d, do I run Spawner, do I use the c4d team render? Appreciate the help.

PS- My goal is to batch render on my local machine. (used DL for this with Max and works great). C4D render queu doesnt work with Vray well.

When I submit it says its rendering but nothing happen. No errors. Nothing. Could it be license issue? I am using Vray 5(2.1) Cinema 4d 24 and Deadline 10

      Thanks!

        Hello tbny65,

You need to follow the same process as submitting a 3ds Max scene. You will need to start the worker, then submit the Cinema4D scene. Upon checking the log it seems like the licensing for the Commandline renderer of Cinema4D is not set up. Please check this page and follow the instructions there to set up the licensing, then try submitting and rendering your scene with Deadline.

Please let me know if that helps with this issue.

Thanks! That was it. Took some time to test it out. Once I figured out to submit the scene file every time to keep it from overwriting with the last saved camera and to use the Take system it worked perfectly! A few key difference from the 3dsmax version but is still very useful.

          Thanks again!
