  • Displacement creates artefacts?

    Hi,

I have a small problem - whenever I use the displacement tag with texture it creates some weird artefacts - attached is an example. How can I solve this?

Are you using cubic mapping? if so try to convert the projection in UV.
If that doesn't work share an example and I'll check it out.

flat mapping also might work better (cubic makes issues as the displaced objects then reacts to the different "cube" mapping sides i think)

Hi, thank you both for your fast answers.Yes, it had been set to Cubic - both UVW works and Flat doesn't ....

flat normally does work on displacement, i use this often, you might need rotate and scale it accordingle (unless you use 2d displacement, this requires an UV)

Hi Stefan, thank you - I will look into it. But UVW works fine - rotating then via Layer / Transform.
