  • PhxShaderOcean in VRay 5

    Hello,

is the PhxShaderOcean shader map available in VRay 5?

With VRay 3.70 for C4D I used the V-Ray PhxShaderOcean in a Vray Displacement Material to create an almost-infinite ocean for yacht rendering and animation, however I can't find any of those in VRay 5.

I need the PhxShaderOcean so I have procedural animated waves (without actually simulating anything with Phoenix, which I don't have), and I used the displacement material so I could control mapping and scaling (I saw the Vray Geometry tag but it seems it has no mapping settings).
Do you have any hint on how to obtain something similar in VRay 5?

    Thank you
    Federico

The ocean shader is not available on version 5, you can get decent results by using a few layer of noise, here is a quick test but with some work you can do much better:

To control the displacement geometry mapping you can use the material tag slot.
For nice water animations in the past I've used the Hot4D plugin, if needed you can also bake the displacement:
