  • Anisotropy Not working

Hey Guys! Can't get Anisotropy working correctly with UV's. It's been an issue since the release of 5 for us, but now we are really needing to control it a bit better. Video attached showing the problem. Thanks

Usually I have no issues in recreating the effect you need, can you share a file?

Hi Brian, are you talking about this kind of radial anisotropy?

I've never been able to achieve radial anisotropy without creating a separate material for it and adding a radial ramp in the rotation slot:

After that you could add a bump map with radial scratches to make it look a little nicer. I find that it needs to be mapped flat to the object (or a selection, in the case above), and then some trial and error fiddling with Roughness and Anisotropy Strength to get it to look right/good.

Maybe Sirio knows of an easier or faster or easier way to do it, I'd love to learn it myself! A good bit of the work I do is metal, too, and it seems like it's a struggle every time to get this effect.

It does look like it's been working now. I dunno why it wasn't working. We do a lot of work for hardware clients and need ano to be working correctly. But looks like it is. Could have just been user error on my part lol. Thanks Guys!!
