  • V-Ray <-> Enscape ?

    Hi All,

    is there a way to transfer settings between Enscape and V-Ray already? i see Sketchup V-Ray can render Enscape materials and assets, and also convert Enscape mats to V-Ray.
    i hope this comes to all V-Rays or a way to convert Enscape customer files to render them high end in V-Ray.
    i have a rhino Enscape file that i would love to render in V-Ray without the need to re-texture everything

    maybe possible via vrscene or the like?

    p.s.: having all that great tools, i think a pipeline connecting the 3 tools, V-Ray/Corona - Enscape - Vantage would a killer production environment for the future, all rendering on Chaos cloud, (at least for many in the arch and archviz industry), something like vrscene could be the connection scene format?

    Hi,

    Currently there is no way but to manually transfer settings/materials between Enscape and V-Ray for Cinema 4D.

    The bridge between V-Ray and Enscape is being done for softwares like Sketchup, Rhino and Revit that V-Ray and Enscape both have integrations for. Enscape doesn't have integration for Cinema 4D, so there is no need for putting any efforts for having such a conversion here. In our case it's more important to make transferring settings and scenes possible between our and the other V-Ray integrations first then most probably Corona and then think about Enscape.

    Yes, most probably this is how we're going to proceed with the solution (USD is also on the table but it depends on Maxon in some ways). The only downside with the vrscene files is that 3rd party plugins won't be supported for transfering.

      thanks for the info, yes sounds good and reasonable, and would also help already ( then the route would be convert rhino enscape to vray rhino, then bring rhino vray scene to c4d (via vrscene/usd p.e.)
