  • Vray 6 LC Mode - from file

    Hello

First of all, thank you fur such a quick and smooth releasing of Vray 6 to C4D!

I see that Light cache has still a mode "from file" - Can we somehow bake LC for animations, to use it and prevent any flickering? Or what's it for?

    Thank you
    Rafal

      Hey,

Thank you for the question. The answer is no. If you use it for short camera animation, it might work. But the accurate answer is NO because you can't save the light cache file for a specific frame. This is a future improvement, but not sure about the timeline. By the way, you'll need to add vrlmap as the file extension - manually. This is a bug.

      Cheers

        Hello RwVision,

        Apologies for the delay.

The "From File" option in the Light cache settings allows you to load a precalculated light cache file that can be later reused so there is no need to recompute the light cache each time.

To save a separate Light Cache file for each frame of an animation, append %04d suffix to the name of the file.

To avoid flickering in your animations, you can check the recommended animation settings here.
