  • Vray 6 Interactive mode setting missing - "Shading depth"

    Hi

I see that in Vray 6 the Interactive tab misses Shading depth tab - both for GI and Trace depth. I used the Trace depth to match the previews of some transparent materials.

Is it hidden or does it mean that interactive preview uses the same global settings in Overrides - materials?

    Hello RwVision,

I apologize for the delayed reply.

With the release of V-Ray 6 for Cinema4D the Trace depth and GI depth parameters have been removed from the Interactive tab. The respective values are used from other parameters, meaning that the Global Max Depth parameter in the Overrides tab controls the Trace depth parameter in Interactive and the Depth parameter in the GI tab controls the GI depth parameter in Interactive.

However, keep in mind that currently there is a bug (bug ID: VC4D-1577) where the Global Max Depth parameter is ignored in Interactive rendering when rendering with V-Ray (CPU). I will make sure to let you know once the bug is fixed. Thank you.
