  • How Do I Render An Alembic Hair File Using VRay Hair Next in C4D?

    Hi

I've just got an alembic hair file from a third party, and imported this into C4D. I'd like to be able to render it using VRay Hair Next, and dragged a VRay Hair Next material onto the alembic file, but nothing shows up in either interactive or production render.

I can't seem to locate anything on YouTube either.

Is there a way to do this please?

    Many thanks

Hi pali_rao, you have two easy options:
    1. If you imported the alembic as splines - you can use the V-Ray Renderable Spline tag, where you may modify the width of the hairs.
    2. You may load the alembic file directly inside a VRayProxy object. You should note that controlling the hair width is not as versatile and is located in the Alembic tab. Click image for larger version
