  • How can I make sure that materials are imported as node materials when importing a VRScene file into Cinema 4D?

I've noticed that by default, the materials are V-Ray materials instead of V-Ray node materials. Is there a way to ensure that the default import results in V-Ray node materials, as I rarely use V-Ray materials?

    Hi qingyuan_pang,

You can use the the Convert Materials tool - this tool converts native Cinema 4D materials, Redshift materials, and V-Ray Classic Materials into V-Ray Node Materials, and Cinema 4D and V-Ray Node Materials into classic V-Ray materials.
This page provides information about the Convert Materials Tool.

Yes, I did this, but some of them will fail to convert, and it is also very troublesome and a waste of time. I hope there is an option to import them as vray materials or vray node materials.

        Hi qingyuan_pang,

Can you please share the .vrscene file and the materials you are having trouble with? Additionally, provide information on your Cinema 4D and V-Ray versions. Please open a ticket and share your files > https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
