  • Mac Studio as Workstation, and Windows PC as a Slave

    Hello.

I have a Mac Studio, and I would like to use this machine to work with Vray for cinema 4D. For the renderings I would like to use a slave on PC windows.
This process works? How should I do to configure.

    Beste regards

Hello christina_nbrega Thank you for reaching out!

Yes, it is possible, however, we would need some additional information regarding the workflow you are trying to use. Are you using Distributed Rendering?

Additionally, you would need a separate Render Node on each machine so you can render with it.

      Hi christina_nbrega
We use mostly win pcs for work but we have a few mac workstations in the office. AFAIK currently team rendering doesn't work with mixed win and mac machines but everything else is fine.
You'll need a shared drive to store your files you have to be aware of the asset paths and save paths for windows and mac because there could be a difference in that. This is the only issue we ran into.

every other thing highly depends on your setup and what your workflow looks like.
One option could be to use the c4d team render server license you have and run it on your pc. and that way you just submit your files on your pc but you wont have a full gui c4d version installed on it.
