    Hi,
what is the right procedure to use the shadow cather in situations of interior photo insertion?
I'm doing a virtual home stage of a piece of furniture inside an empty room (photo) but I have the problem that the ceiling also generates shadows on the floor making it darker than the photo. I would like it to generate shadows on the furniture but not on the floor because that will be the existing one

in this case it is clearly visible. I did a test by positioning a light and you can see that the walls do not block the light

Hello visualtracing__ Thank you for sharing. Could you please share the scene with us so we can investigate further?

As we discussed, visualtracing__, little changes had to be done such as making the ceiling invisible to make it work. Thank you for your collaboration!

          Hey,

I found this thread while searching for an answer to the same question, but I'm having trouble understanding the solution provided.

Could you please explain what "making the ceiling invisible" means? Are you actually referring to the wall? I'd really appreciate a more detailed explanation or an example file that shows how this should be setup correctly.

I've attached a test file I've been working with for reference.

Also, I've noticed another issue - when I activate a Dome Light (VraySky), I get a lot of artifacts (see attached screenshot). These artifacts don't appear in the alpha channel, but they make it nearly impossible to work with the scene.

Thanks so much for your help!
          Best regards,

Edit: I just realized this is the C4D Forum, but I guess the solution will be similar in 3ds max.
