  • Maybe light exclusions could include specular

  • #2
Hi bibin_thomas It works as expected on my side - you are able to see the specular on both situations. Using C4D 2025 and latest stable build.

Please, share the versions of C4D and V-Ray that you are using as well as a screen recording so I can observe the situation better. The scene file would be useful as well.

I tried, but it seems I can't include specular reflections.

            bibin_thomas Hi!

this is a really interesting question/ issue. I've tested this same issue with c4d 2025.2.1 and V-Ray 7 for Cinema 4D, Hotfix 2 (v7.00.02 from Mar 11 2025). I feel like viktor_angelov you tested something else? Im not sure that it is a desired outcome to have the objects/material properties be overridden by the light include exclude selection.
It feels like the reflection of the plane should be there, because the light rays may pass them but the reflective surface and gi make the plane visible as it blocks the light rays. Or I'm just totally missing the point on this issue.

Hi bibin_thomas We have investigated the matter further and it will be logged into our system for further development.

As a workaround, you can add a Object Properties tag to the plane and turn off Visible in Reflections. This will make it work for you.
