little issue with layers Vray5

hi there, making some tests with Vray5, absolutely insane fast, very happy, you did a fantastic job !. Some minor bug detected today: when objects are put into a layer with render icon OFF, Vray5 renders it anyway... (The visibility option works fine)

the issue has been fixed in the latest stable builds of V-Ray 5 for Cinema 4D. You can download a build with the fix on our nightie builds server on the following link:

Thanks Shaio, installed it and...it was a drama: no render, no access to Vray menu in render settings. Everything was like frozen on screen. I
installed back the previous stable version !

That is odd. I don't experience those issues here on both Windows and macOS. If you have time it would be great if you can give us some more information and maybe the log from the console could also be helpful if you're able to access it. As far as I can see on other threads other people are not experiencing this with the same build. Let me know if you decide to gather some more information about this.

Installed it again 2 minuts ago, everything seems to work fine. What happened during the first installation is: the Vray5 installation asked me to close "cinema4D" for the installation to proceed. In fact it was closed. Tried two times, nothing. So I decided to reboot the pc, and the installation went well, but as I say, the VFB got frozen, the Vray menu in render settings was there but nothing in the panel when I selected it. Reinstalled the previous stable version. Everything went back to normal. Now with the 50042 exe it seems to be ok also. Thanks Shaio

Thank you for the update! I'm happy that it worked out in the end. I'll try to figure out what might have caused the issue on your end and forward it to the devs for suggestions.

Another detail that may be interesting for you: since I installed the 50042 version on my pc with R23C4D, I can use again positive numbers for the displacement map in the geometry tag, as I always did with the previous Vray versions. With the December 10 release, I had to use negative values to obtain the correct displacement, like if the direction was inverted
