Hi,
We're using V-Ray 5. When trying to send a 5GB file (originally form CAD) to our 20 Render Slaves (Dual CPU BOXX's with 128GB Memory), the Slaves do not respond. Smaller files aren't an issue.
I believe a restart of the Slaves would help like the option 3ds Max has. This seems possible editing the CLI. This is regardless of the file size.
How can the restart of the Slave for C4D be implemented if the CLI command only seems to terminate it after the render, but not restart it.?
Proxy's have to have materials reapplied and with XRefs, the files would have to be broken up into bits for animation purposes.
We are able to render these files with DR using 3.7, but now with 5, these larger files don't go through. All Slaves give up.
Could this be a bandwidth issue? I did try a file with my 10GB network at home sending to my tiny farm and it seemed to work. The network may send up to 5Gbs so it seems the issue may be a larger pipe for our BOXX's should do the trick.
Has anyone else experienced a problem sending large files over their network using DR and V-Ray 5? If so, was a workaround needed or did it send and receive with no problems?
V-Ray 5 is the best render engine I've ever used and the images are extraordinary!! Right out of the box! Thank you Chaos Group!!!!
Kind regards,
Joe
