  • Size dimensions of rectangle lights are wrong/confusing

In 3.7 the dimension of a light was defined by it's x and y value, which were direct representation of it's with and height. In VRay 5 the size of a Rectangle Light is defined by the U Size and the V Size. The weird thing about this is a light with a U and V Size of 100cm has actually a with and a height of 200cm. For me as a user this is weird and makes no sense.

    Hello Berndimator,

Currently, the U and V size of the light represents the radius of the light instead of its diameter which causes the confusion. This has already been reported to our developers and I will let you know once there is any progress on the matter.
    Thank you.

          Hello,

This issue is now fixed and the width and the height of a V-Ray Rectangle light represent the actual dimensions of the light. The fix is available in our latest stable build and can be downloaded from here.

          Thanks.

Thanks for the update Aleksandar, may I ask what happens to lights from older V5 scenes?

              Hello sirio76,

The size of the lights from older V-Ray 5 scenes won't change and the displayed width and height will be updated accordingly. Please check the screenshots of the official build and the latest stable build where you can see the changes.

I hope this is of help.
