  • VDB preview does not apply "Affect Background" setting

    Hi,

I can see that VFB preview still does not render the proper bg color, when turning off "Affect Background" setting:

(Can't upload image on server - Missing PHP temporary folder; check upload_tmp_dir)

    Any tips?

    Hello RwVision,

What image sampler type are you using when rendering? Please note that the Affect background option in the Color Mapping rollout is not supported when using Progressive sampler. Could you please change the image sampler type to "Bucket" and see if that helps?

      Hi aleksandar.kasabov

The issue is for the Interactive preview - therefore the progressive sampler is enforced. How can I can accurate previews (mostly when working on studio product setup with matte floor) if it does not work?

        Hello RwVision,

I apologize for the delayed reply.

Please note that "Affect Background" is not supported when using Progressive Image Sampler and that includes the Interactive render. This is a global limitation in the V-Ray core and affects the integration of V-Ray for all host applications, not only V-Ray for Cinema4D. Currently, there are no plans on fixing this.
