  • Multipass rendering

    Hello,

when I render different multi matts, only the first one under the render elements will be saved. For excample, I have two channels and I can change the channels under the vfb, but only one channel will be saved.
Tried with Cinema output and with vfb. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi Haniel,

can you give an example of the end result you are aiming for? I'm not sure I understand what exactly the issue is. Just tried the Multi matte on object/material mode and seems to work fine on my side, but maybe I'm not replicating the setup you have in your scene

      Hello haniel1107,

This issue seems to be the same as another that has already been reported in our system (bug ID: VC4D-832). I will let you know once we have more information.

As a workaround, you can give the render elements different names (for example multimatte_1, multimatte_2, etc. ) which resolves this issue.

Hi Aleksandar, yes this solved the problem.. Thank You!

But, I was dealing with it for some hours... Because I didn't know.I put all into one channel and worked with mask in after effects.. It is not funny with animations..
I really hope you are coming around with a good new version SOON. All these bugs are bad obstacles in your workflow... My client is not paying the wasted time ..

Yunal, thanks, wanted to explain with a video, but Aleksandar was faster..

PS: How can I render Multi Matts on Chaos Cloud?

The same process should be applied there as well. All render elements should have different names. Once you render the image you will find the render elements as layers of the .exr file.

Thank you... Can I create separate files?

Currently, there is no option to save them to separate files. I have added a feature request for that (VC4D-966) and will let you know if we have any updates. Thank you.
