  • RGB channel without Lens Effects baked in?

I'm pretty sure that on a previous test using multi-layer EXRs that the lens effects were only saved as a separate layer. Currently Vray is spitting out the RGB layer with the lens effects baked in. I cannot for the life of me find any checkbox to get a clean plate. I've tried unchecking the 'Apply VFB Compositing and Color Corrections' box in the Common tab, but to no avail.
    Can someone help?
    Cheers,

To be clear, for a single frame I can turn off the lens effects layer in the VFB, save all channels to single file and that gives me what I want: clean RGB layer + Lens Effects.

There seems to be no way to automatically do this for animations though.

Did you try saving and exr from the V-Ray Output? Seems to work fine on my side, both in Nuke and in Ae (check the screenshots)

Like I say, it works fine saving a single frame out from the VFB, using the Vray output, but when you render an animation, it's baked in to the RGB along with a separate glare channel.

Take a closer look at the screen grabs. That is a seq of 5 frames, with 2 channels RGBA and Glare. Mixed in post for the final result, meaning the RGBA has no baked-in effects

So it looks like this is a bug with Lens Effects and multi-channel EXRs. Writing out a single channel EXR gives me the RGB channel without lens effects + a separate glare EXR. Multichannel bakes the lens effects in the RGB as well giving me a redundant glare layer.

(thanks Yunal for your help testing this)

                    Hello KernitTheFont,

I apologize for the delayed reply.

Upon testing on my end I was not able to reproduce the issue with the multi-channel EXRs. Would you mind sharing the scene and the rendered files so I can have a look? Thank you.
