  • Vray Pinhole camera still does not match c4d camera preview

    Hi,

Another V5 major issue - why and how to overcome the camera offset vs picture viewer? I'm of course using "pinhole" setting, which was working in 3.7 (using film offset).
If it's not possible I'm reverting to 3.7.

This is urgent, please respond someone.

BTW - why the Override tabs do not support different background Projection?! Like frontal is not possible like in 3.7

Just checked it on my side, seems to work with the Standard type. Can you try that one out?

      Hey Yunal,

You might think this is matching, but it can be slightly off - please try my file - did not install the latest update yet, wondering if it is corrected.

You are right, the standard type follows the offset and has the expected lens "mis-match" and the pinhole doesn't consider the offset at all.

There you have it - thanks for confirming! Same goes with pinhole.

Well... Did you test it? Because it does nothing to the issue

                  Hi RwVision,
I've bumped the issue with the camera, so we can look in to it soon.

You can use the Cinema 4D Background object and apply a material to it. Then set the Projection on the material tag to Frontal.

Does this solution fully work with matte comp tags and overrides color correction?

The Cinema4D Background object works well when using the Object Properties tag to create matte surfaces. Are you referring to the color corrections in the VFB2? Color corrections in the VFB2 will also affect the C4D background object.

I want the background object to render with no color mapping applied - same as "affect background" option in render settings.

The color mapping, set in the Render settings won't be applied on the Cinema4D background object if the "Affect Background" is disabled. However, as mentioned here, this option is not supported when using the Progressive image sampler and will only work with the Bucket image sampler.

Is there any update on the pinhole vs standard mismatch? and also is there a way to make the pinhole work with shift film/ vertical-horizontal shift?
