  • Vray5 - Grainy render

    Hi

I have just started using Vray5 with Cinema 24 and I’m seeing some image quality issues. I’ve used standard render settings and output A3 / resolution 300 for both images. Render time set to max. 15min.
Vray5 images are awfully grainy. The difference is especially visible when I add materials such as glass. Vray Bridge render was sharp and clear. Vray5 is horrible.

Changing Noise Threshold to 0.005 makes no difference either. I didn’t convert any old materials, I created new ones. Fabric blinds were even made with Vray Scanned material from Chaos Library. The scene is also new I simply imported the model in it.

What am I doing wrong? Why is image quality so bad and how can I fix it?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

    Hello tobias_seemann,

I apologize for the delayed reply.

Could you please share the scenes (V-Ray 3.7 and V-Ray 5) with us so we can have a look? I can see that you have also opened a ticket in our ticketing system so you can share those files directly in the existing ticket. Thank you.
