  • Alembic File + Motion Blur rendering bug

    Steps to recreate:

    1) Import any animated alembic file without velocity data.
    2) Attach Object tag, enable Motion blur sample overwrite and set samples to an Odd # like 3
    3) Render out 10+ frames.

What you'll find is a very jagged alembic animation. Naturally there's no motion blur on it, every so many frames there's an odd frame freeze and a slight skip.

    Hello imdb,

I followed the steps but I couldn't reproduce the issue. Could you please send us the scene in question with all assets for it (File>Save Project with Assets) so we can have a look? You can attach the scene to your reply or upload it to a cloud service (such as Google Drive or WeTransfer) and provide us with the download link.

Also, please provide us with more information about your setup: exact Cinema4D and V-Ray versions, OS, are you using V-Ray or V-Ray GPU? It would also be helpful if you can share a video recording of the issue.

    Thank you.
