  • Vray 5, vray not found after installation

    Hello,
set up a new mac mini today, running on 11.6. Downloaded and installed cinema 4d (first s24, then r23 in a second try) as well as VRAY 5 (for each cinema version).
Installation says it was successful (no license registration though)

When opening either cineam 4d, Vray is not found. No option in the render settings, no mention of it in the console.

    Any ideas? Thank you

    Hi Fritz,
have you installed the licence server?
For new Macmini you intend an M1 machine?

Hi Sirio, thanks for the quick repsonse. Yes I did - can't find it anywhere though.

Vray I see in the Applications folder, and in the plugins folders of the cinema 4d folders.

Yes - it is a new M1 machine... now that you mention it. Is that a problem?

          Hello fritz_neumeyer,

Please note that currently, V-Ray 5 works on M1-based Apple machines through the MacOS's Rosetta emulation layer. It will take some time for the native version of V-Ray for the M1 CPU architecture to be released. Right now it could only be used with Rosetta.

            Thank you. That explains it.

            Looking forward to the release.
