  • Forester trees not rendering leaves when motion blur is activated

    Hello,
I have an issue with my project. When motion blur is activated, the forester trees are rendering without leaves...
Is this a forester issue or a vray5 issue?

    Always obstacles...

3dquakers went through it and they say it is a vray bug which only cg can fix.
If you like to have some simple example files, please let me know, as not all trees show the same behaviour..

this means again, finding alternative workarounds...

      Hello haniel1107,

If possible, please share an example scene and some renders where the issue is visible. Also, please let me know if you are using V-Ray or V-Ray GPU, the exact versions of Cinema4D and V-Ray that you have installed and your OS. Thanks.

        Hello aleksandar.kasabov,

here is a simple file attached with one tree, two cams just to show the bug.
        I am rendering with CPU only on windows 10 / S24. Vray5 1.3 & 1.4 / latest forester

This tree is from the Expansion Pack.
Some trees work, but most not.., but the trees who seem to work, are not displaying the right number of leafs, only some few leaves.. as I guess the leaf multiplier doesn't work properly with motion blur on those.

Same with the trees from the forester plug-in. FYI...Only difference is, the tree from the forester plugin don't have vray5 materials...

I have shown and mentioned all this to 3dquakers yesterday and they confirmed this... but they can't do anything on this, as it seems to be a vray bug...

        Thanks for checking this...

          Hello haniel1107,

Thank you for providing the scene and those details.

We will have a look at it and will get back to you. Is this the first time you experience the issue or it has always been like that? Thank you.

Hi aleksandar.kasabov , it is the first time I want to use it for production, since the vray5 compatible forester version came out last months.

              Hello haniel1107,

Upon testing the scene we managed to reproduce the issue and it is now reported in our bug-tracking system (bug ID: VC4D-1141). I will let you know once we have updates on the matter.

The current workaround to this issue is to make the object editable. Then the leaves will render correctly.

Yes but then you can't animate them with the build in hyperwind engine. Hopefully the fix comes soon...
                Thanks!
