  • VrayNormalMap Shader - Different result with and without UVW Projection Tag

    Hello,

I am not sure if this is really a mistake or not. But when I am using the VrayNormMap Shader I have different results when rendering the material in UVW Mode with tag or as cubic.
VrayNormmap Shader with UVW tag looks much stronger and nicer..., but which result is the correct one...?

    Thanks

I've tested a normal map by simply loading the texture and I get identical results with both cubic and UV projection. By using the normal map shader I get different results and I would say that there is something wrong in there, probably developers needs to check this.
Unless you have specific reasons to use the normalmap shader use the standard method and remember to set the normal map in linear mode

Hi sirio76 , yes I will do so! I have a scene with a lot of VrayNormalMap Shaders and happy with the look! Just wondering, when this will be fixed, if this look will change... Let's see...
      Thanks!
