Hi,

there is no overridable flag in the material,
and also in the settings no place to set an override material

is Material Override / clay rendering possible in V-Ray 5 ?

Yes it is possible, use the native Cinema override system, if you want to exclude some shaders (like glass) just put them in the list.

Hello index,

To override the materials, simply enable the Material Override in the Cinema4D settings and add a material. You can then exclude materials. Please check this screenshot.

ok tx... but honestly, this was better in the old vray !

with the c4d system you need to think of it all the time when making a new glass or other material needed to be exluded
the info is stored in the render settings, so materials must be always copied to all settings if you use multiple (eg for size/quality/etc)
on copying materials to other files you must think of re-adding them to the list(s) again
...
with the old system you simply ticked overidable=off for certain material types and never had to think of it again
--> maybe it is worth to think about having this in V-Ray 5 ?
