  • Differnt lighting on different resolutions

    Hello guys,
I encountered a strange problem that I dont really have an explaination for it.
I want to render following part, I noticed that the higher I go with the resolution of the rendering the more does the lighting look different. There is a quick example in the attachments

The lower resolution clearly burns out faster than the higher resolution. What causes this difference? Is it Light Cache related?

    Hey, Jonas,

Thank you for the report! I think this might be a bump map or normal map behavior could please check it for us? We will need more details for the final conclusion and decision-making.

      Hi jonas_schneider ,
A few years back I stumbled upon the same issue. It's related to the way bitmaps are filtered, and it's not only a V-Ray issue. Most rendering engines have this as well. You can try turning off the bitmap filtering, and you should get closer results between the two images. If you're interested, I can try to gather some more technical information about this and share it with you.
