  • VRAY 6 intel denoise

    Hi everyone,
first of all: great new features in the new Vray 6! I love it.

I was relieved to see that the results in V6 are nearly the same as V5. Importing "old" scenes and rendering without converting. Great!
Unfortunately there are some cases that the denoiser (intel) is very different to the old one.
See the example with small lines on the surface. They are totally lost after the denoising.
This happen with intel open image and with nvidia ai. With the default v-ray denoiser I get better results but its not the same.

I'm using the denoiser all the time so this is very bad for me. Did the denoiser change in V6?

    Hey,

Thank you for the report! I think when you applied the "Color" texture to the sheen texture slot something messing. If you remove it, I think you'll be ok. What is the difference between both, we use albedo instead of diffuseFilter, and I think this might be the reason.

    Cheers,

Thanks Boyan, actually I don't understand why this affects the denoiser but it seams to work. Unfortunately I can't use sheen in some cases but it helped anyway. Thx.
