Thin film settings - thicknex max greyed out

Hi!

I've been re-watching the webinar for c4d and noticed that in the last stable v-ray 6 version for c4d 2023. The thin film shader Thickness max (nm) parameter is greyed out (locked at 400) both in the classic material and the node material. Am i missing something or is this a bug?

Hi akos_kiss, the "Thikness Max (nm)" parameter is grayed out because it only has effect when a blending node or shader is connected. Having a blending node or shader actually maps black to the minimum thickness and white to the maximum thickness, allowing you to have a smooth transition. You can easily check out the effect by adding a simple Maxon noise in the "Thickness blend" map.
