  • Different frame output using Vray Production Render/C4D Render manager

    I got the following issue:

Rendering out sequence 0-10 frames with framerate 50

rendering via c4d render manager: renders 0-20 frames (as expected)
    (saving via c4d save option)

rendering via vray production render: renders 0-10 frames
    (saving via vray)

Where are the other frames? Seems they got rendered
since vray doesnt stop rendering after 10 frames ...

    Hello folklore,

    Apologies for the delayed reply.

Upon testing this I was not able to reproduce this issue on my end. Would you mind sending us a screenshot of your Output render settings or even better- a test scene so I can have a look? Also, please share your setup details (C4D version, V-Ray Version, OS, etc). Thank you.

      Hey there,
      I made an example.
rendering with c4d render I get 20 frames if I render 10 frames with 50 fps
rendering with vray render I get 10 frames if I render 10 frames with 50 fps

Hi folklore, this seems to be a problem with our handling of the custom framerate which affects animation rendering in the VFB. I have logged this for fixing ( VC4D-1648 ). Until we fix this issue, you can use the V-Ray output system with rendering in the Picture Viewer, which is not affected by the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Edit: Just to add, that matching the FPS in the document settings with the framerate in the output options should also fix the issue when rendering in the VFB. But we will try to fix it regardless of the FPS value in the document.
