  • Not all splines render on GPU

    Hello guys,

Im currently experimenting with Splines and created some sort of cloth/kitting animation. I wanted to render this animation with renderable splines. My problem is that my setup works when I only render on CPU, but it doesnt render all my spline cloners when I am switching on GPU. I attached the scene. From what I understand, the renderable spline tag should work with GPU rendering. I am fairly new to the whole GPU render topic, on work we still use mainly CPU rendering, so if I am missing a setting or so, I hope you can help me out here.

    Hello jonas_schneider,

Thank you for your report. Currently, there is a limitation on V-Ray GPU where it can only render 128 splines in a cloner. I have reported this to our developers (bug ID: VC4D-1625) so they can fix this. I will keep you updated on the progress.

The current workaround would be to use the Sweep generator to generate geometry from the splines or to use the Connect generator and set it as a parent of the Cloner (the Renderable Spline tag should be applied to the Connect generator). I hope this is of help.
