  • The Vray Object Tag - Exclude Reflection doesn't work with Mesh Light

    Hello,
if I put a Mesh Light into the exlude reflection Folder in a Vray Object Tag, it is still visible in the reflections.
Could this be an error? Thanks!

    Hey haniel1107,
Unfortunately it seems like this isn't an easy fix to be added from the internal builds to the currently available to everyone stable builds of V-Ray 6 (6.00.04). We have to include it with the release of V-Ray 6 Update 1 (6.10). I hope this is Ok for you.

Hi haniel1107, thanks for your report. It seems this problem was fixed internally, but the fix was not backported to the stable builds. I'll check if this is possible and post an update here afterwards. Even if the backport is not possible, it will be fixed in future major versions. Sorry for any caused inconvenience.

Hello shaio, much appreciated that you inform me. All good, just recognized and... for me all good...

But sounds like Update 1 is close?

                Thanks!

                  不幸的是,使用球体作为网格光的子级并使用 c4d 图像查看器进行渲染是不可能的,并且仍然需要取消球体的理想渲染。

                  我希望修复此错误

                      Sorry, it was my mistake

What I mean is: unfortunately, using a sphere as a child of a grid light and rendering with a C4D image viewer is not possible, or is it necessary to cancel the ideal rendering of the sphere.

I hope to fix this bug

                        Hi painter_li , by this
using a sphere as a child of a grid light
do you happen to mean having a sphere (with "Render perfect") as a mesh light? E.g. by having this setup:

Name:	image.png
Views:	151
Size:	16.7 KB
ID:	1178517

If that is the case - it is expected that the light will not work. By having the sphere as "Render perfect", it is actually rendered as object with no polygons / triangles. And the mesh light works only with objects that have polygons / triangles. So you either need to disable the "Render perfect" option (so the sphere properly generates polygons) or you can use the sphere light, which is specifically designed to render as sphere (and will probably render slightly faster than the mesh light). For now we don't have plans to change this behavior.

I hope this does not cause much inconvenience.
