How can I correctly render Cryptomatte in V-Ray for C4D? As shown in the image, this is my current setup. However, even though I only set up one Cryptomatte channel, it is outputting multiple Cryptomatte files.and I upload my test project file.

Hello mitchell_crane What's happening is that the 3 channels are being generated, V-Ray picks information that is needed from those channels to form the VRayCryptomatte.exr
Cryptomatte 00,001,002. are Cryptomatte Layers. With their help the compositing is made. They always need to be 32-bit, because otherwise the compositing would not be possible.
The first file - VRayCryptomatte.exr - is an ordinary image. It is technically not necessary for the compositing. That is why the precision is as chosen - 16 or 32 bits.

Hi mitchell_crane I will investigate further and reach back to you once more information is available.
Please, be aware that for the Cryptomatte to work as expected you need a Multichannel EXR. Please, go to Render Settings > V-Ray > Common > Format > Type and select Multichannel. Тhen test again.
Additionally, Cryptomatte needs specific external plugin that AfterEffects does not have by default. Could you please let us know of your workflow? You could share a screen recording with us so we can observe.
Finally, please keep in mind that the Cryptomatte is not a color based mask.
More about the Cryptomatte RE you can read here: https://docs.chaos.com/display/VC4D/Cryptomatte+RE

Hi mitchell_crane I have tested the Cryptomatte by exporting a Multichannel EXR from Cinema 4D through the V-Ray Output in the Render Settings and importing it into Nuke. There, by using the Cryptomatte node I observe a correct behavior.
I am attaching an image. You can see that the information is there. I was able to select object and in the space on the right the data of the objects appeared:
